Clean mold from window sills. Make a mixture of one part bleach to three parts warm water. Tea tree oil is the best treatment for killing and tackling mold on window sills unfortunately it is the most expensive option too. Scrub the windowsill clean with the damp cloth. Using a mixture of bleach and warm water scour moldy window frames and sills with a stiff nylon brush.
However it can penetrate into the roots of the mold and can kill and remove all traces of mold. Scrub the window sill with your mold remover. Add 1 cup borax to the water and mix thoroughly with a long handled spoon. Often sashes are affected so start at the top and work down.
Vinegar is a good option in cleaning black mould from these areas. Let the resulting scummy mix of mold and remover stand for a few minutes. Keep an extra bucket of cleaning solution handy and use it to rinse your brush as you work. You ll want to grab some paper towels and apply the solution to sills and if it s hard to remove grab a plastic scraper to help loosen it and then apply more of your cleaning solution.
Open a window or door so the mold spores can escape instead of staying locked in your home. This is just one property of tee tree oil and is something you should have on hand at all times. Use a clean rag to then wipe away the mold you loosened. While you are doing that empty your pail or get a new one and refill it with clean water.
